BlueCherry^® takes advantage of Microsoft^® Silverlight™ and the Windows^® Presentation Foundation (WPF) to deliver a visually stunning vector-based user interface. Silverlight and WPF enable BlueCherry to deliver graphically-rich user experiences that are consistent on both the desktop and over the web.

BlueCherry leverages the WPF to deliver its desktop Smart Client, which serves as the main interface to BlueCherry data. BlueCherry’s Smart Client communicates with the BlueCherry Application Server over the standard HTTP internet protocol, exchanging XML data for fast, efficient data processing. This reduces the system requirements of the user’s workstation and makes BlueCherry more scalable. It also reduces system load as the need for persistent connections is eliminated. The Smart Client establishes a connection to the Application Server to make a request and once the request is fulfilled, the connection is dropped. This frees up server and bandwidth assets for use by others, further enhancing total system performance.
